ABOUT:

Meet Richard House, a passionate musician and dedicated educator with over 35 years of experience sharing the joy of music. With an earned Doctorate Degree of Musical Arts in Instrumental Music/Conducting and a Master's in Trumpet Performance from Arizona State University, along with a Bachelor’s in Music Education from East Carolina University, Richard has a solid educational background to back his love for music.

In addition to his comparatively recent adventures as a DJ, Richard is an educational specialist at Musical Innovations in Simpsonville, SC, where he brings his enthusiasm for music to students of all ages. He’s taught everyone from tiny 3-year-olds to adults in community orchestras, and he spent 14 years guiding young musicians as a public and private school band director, plus 7 years as an orchestra director and general music teacher at St. Mary’s Catholic School.

At the college level, Richard has inspired future music educators for 20 years, directing bands, teaching trumpet, and sharing his knowledge at four different institutions in the Southeastern USA. He’s also a talented trumpeter who has performed at countless church services, weddings, recitals, and has appeared with various regional orchestras. With his warm and friendly approach, Richard House continues to create a positive impact on everyone he meets in the world of music!
